Interpreters
Interpretation Services recruits interpreters accredited or certified by one of the following:
- Public Services and Procurement Canada
- Society of Translators and Interpreters of British Columbia or any other provincial or territorial member associations affiliated with the Canadian Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters Council.
- Graduates of the Court Interpreting Certificate Program at Vancouver Community College
As there are no formal accreditation opportunities in place for certain smaller language groups, Interpretation Services recruits individuals with academic/professional credentials (preferably in a translation and/or language-related field) and with interpreting experience in the source and target languages.
Translators
Translation Services recruits translators certified by one or more of the following accrediting bodies:
- Society of Translators and Interpreters of British Columbia
- Canadian Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters Council (its provincial and territorial members)
- Public Services and Procurement Canada
- American Translators Association
We also encourage you to apply if you majored in a language- or translations-related field, have foreign credentials, or extensive experience in translation.
